Although this beer is distinctively a New England IPA it has some unusual notes in the flavour.
On the nose there's overripe pineapple, lime zest, subtle sweet custard and a green dankness. The flavour is focused on those dank notes plus aromatic herbs with fresh thyme standing out. The body is a little thinner that expected of a NEIPA, and the bitter more aggressive. Medium low to low in body, medium carbonation and a medium high bitter. After the swallow there's a little hot alcohol, and bitter herbal notes linger in the finish.
Tasting notes by Maarten Nederhof.
Lighter bodied NEIPA with some unexpected flavours.
