Saison Dupont was first brewed in 1844 and today is considered the benchmark for the Saison style. The complex aroma confirms the hype with bright notes of dairy farm funk, wet hay, lemon zest, apricot and perfumy anise and coriander seed. In the flavour the stone fruit dominates, along with white breads and a spicy clove note in the finish. Medium to light bodied, high carbonation and an assertive bitter make for a true summer season thirst quencher.
Brasserie Dupont is located on a working farm which dates back to 1759 and has significant brewing history focusing on traditional Belgian beer styles. The popularization of the Saison Dupont in the 1980s led to great international popularity for this beer which is now considered a reference point for the style and an inspiration for modern farmhouse ales.
