New England might not be the best way to describe this Double IPA, it's somewhere between the Vermont style and the West Coast one. The nose is quite subtle with ripe pineapple, orange, apricot preserve, pine, creamed coconut, and rosebud coming though. The flavour is focused on biscuit rather than custard, and has a pronounced herbal bitter. Medium light in body, medium carbonation and medium to medium high in bitter. In the finish the bitter is quick and the fruit lingers, along with a little hot alcohol. A pleasant colliding of two worlds.
