Using strawberry, cacao nibs, ginger snaps, molasses and lactose, this beer stand out even among Pastry Stouts.
The aroma is luxurious with aromas of sweet molasses, coffee bean, candied ginger and red berry coming through. The flavour is sweeter than the nose leads on and the strawberry really shines here, interplaying with the chocolate to become something like a Brookside candy. There is also subtle secondary notes of ginger snap cookie and roasted malts. Medium-high to high in body, low carbonation, low in bitter and a very smooth texture. Although sweet, this beer isn't cloying and has balance. There's a touch of heat in the finish, possibly from the ginger, but you'd never guess this is a 11%er.
