This brewery was allegedly founded in the year 1050 at lake Tegernsee, started out as a monastery and is currently owned by a Bavarian Duchess.
The beer is one of the best examples within the Helles style, presenting wet grain, baguette crust, honey, lemon zest and subtle floral and sulfur notes in the aroma. The flavour follows suit with more bread, honey and grain notes. Low in body, medium high carbonation and a medium low bitter. Dry and crisp, very well attenuated and therefore extremely refreshing.
Tasting notes by Maarten Nederhof.
Dry, crisp and extremely refreshing Helles style Lager.
